TWENTYNINE PALMS HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS VOLLEYBALL BEATS INDIO RAJAHS

The Twentynine Palms High School Ladycats volleyball team beat the Indio Rajahs in 4 sets. Coach Missy Bond-Franz said all 12 girls on the team saw playtime. The team was led by strong hitting seniors Tusia Brown, Cherokee Turner and Hannah Sutherland. Franz said, “I was very proud of all of the girls tonight. We saw some weak areas that we need to work on and we also saw some very strong offensive play by the girls.” The Ladycats are 1-0 overall.

Yesterday, the Twentynine Palms High School girls’ tennis team lost their season opener against Indio High School by a score of 8-10. The Wildcats’ number one doubles team of Heather Centner and Arin Tripp won three sets, 6-0, 6-3 and 6-2. Also winning three sets in a row was the doubles team of Heather Lebeda and Rebecca Raines. In singles, Tassia Lucas won two out of three sets.

In high school sports today, the Yucca Valley High School girls’ volleyball team will travel to San Jacinto. First serve is at 4:30.

Coming up tomorrow, the Twentynine Palms High School cross-country team will travel to Palm Desert to participate in the September Sizzle meet. The meet starts at 5:30.

Also tomorrow, the Joshua Springs girls’ volleyball team will host West Shores School at home. First serve is at 5 p.m.
