TRIAL BEGINS FOR YUCCA VALLEY MAN ACCUSED OF KILLING MARTIN REYES

The trial for a man accused of shooting and killing a Yucca Valley man more than four years ago began yesterday. Brian Cline, 34, was in a Joshua Tree courtroom Tuesday when lawyers began selecting potential jurors. On April 18, 2013, Brian Cline was arguing with Martin Reyes, 35, in the 6300 block of Hermosa Avenue in Yucca Valley when investigators say Cline pulled out a gun and fired several shots at Reyes, hitting him once in the face. Detectives say Cline then fled on foot, jumping fences, before he was found trying to hide on a home’s roof at Hermosa and Barron Drive. Martin Reyes was taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center where he died.
