TOWN OFFERS CYBER-CRIME WORKSHOPS FOR ONLINE SAFETY

With hackers stealing millions of personal records, scam artists stealing pin numbers, and internet based scams an the rise, it is important to learn how to protect yourself and your family. The Town of Yucca Valley is offering cyber-security workshops. Reporter David Knutson has details……
October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month and the Town of Yucca Valley is introducing workshops to assist residents in learning how to protect themselves online. The first workshop will be held on October 3 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the Cholla Room at the Yucca Valley Community Center. The seminar will include instruction on how to identify cyber crime, how to protect yourself, and simple actions you can take to be safer online. Participants must be 16 and older and admission is $4 per person. Admission can be purchased online at yucca-valley.org or at the door as space allows.
