TODDLER FIGHTING FOR HER LIFE AFTER NEAR-DROWNING IN YUCCA VALLEY

An 18-month old girl is fighting for her life after nearly drowning in a Yucca Valley pool Monday. According to a Sheriff’s report, a family in the 56000 block of Desert Gold had finished swimming and were in the house with the sliding door locked. While the family was eating dinner, another man arrived with his son, and unlocked the door to go swimming with his son. The girls’ parents realized almost immediately that their daughter was missing and found her at the bottom of the pool just before 6 p.m. The father began CPR until paramedics arrived. She was flown to Loma Linda Medical Center. The Sheriff’s report notes that the girl is showing some positive signs of recovery but she is still in critical condition. Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
