“THE MUSICAL “SECRET GARDEN” OPENS TONIGHT AT THEATRE 29

The musical “The Secret Garden,” the redemptive family tale of love, loss and renewal opens tonight for a five-week run through September 24, at Theatre 29. The opening night gala of the hit three-time Tony-Award winning Broadway musical is sponsored by Friends of the Twentynine Palms Library and The Gladys Carol Scholarship tonight with activities starting at 6 p.m. The curtain rises at 7:00 p,m. Based on the beloved novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, “The Secret Garden” tells the story of how 10-year-old Mary Lennox is sent to live with an uncle whom she’s never met. Tickets for the gala only are $25 and include hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, door prizes and dessert at intermission.
