THE COMMISSARY CLOSES ABOARD THE TWENTYNINE PALMS MARINE BASE

The commissary on board the Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms was closed until further notice Wednesday due to health code violations. A press release from the Combat Center Deputy Director states the commissary was closed because of “a pest control issue” that was discovered during a routine commissary inspection. The bakery/deli and produce areas were the source of the violations. All other areas of the commissary were deemed safe for operations.

Commissary patrons concerned about the quality of recent purchases may be eligible to file a claim for compensation on lost groceries with the Tort Claim Unit of Code 15, Office of the Judge Advocate General, Department of the Navy. They will need to fill out an SF 95 package. TCU prefers that the claims be emailed to them at [email protected]. They can also be mailed. The claim needs to include supporting documentation for the loss such as receipts or bank records.

The mailing address for TCU is:
Office of the Judge Advocate General Tort Claims Unit Norfolk
9620 Maryland Ave. Suite 205
Norfolk, VA 23511-2949
