A juvenile was arrested following a suspicious fire in Twentynine Palms Sunday night. Deputies had been called to the 700 block of Canyon Road bout 6:37 p.m., because a juvenile was upset with his mother over breaking his computer. The Sheriff’s report said the 17-year-old boy was going to shoot her and burn the place down. The woman left the location in fear for her life. While alone, the juvenile allegedly poured gasoline in the living room and set it on fire. Firefighters were called about 8:15 p.m., and for safety concerns, they waited until deputies arrived to clear the scene. Firefighters found a mobile home, an RV trailer, two cars, and many other items on fire in a homestead compound that had no utilities or power to the site. Crews knocked down the fire in about 20 minutes and they were on scene about five hours mopping up. Deputies located the boy who had tried to flee on an off-road vehicle. The boy was arrested for investigation of arson and making criminal threats, and taken to San Bernardino Juvenile Hall.
A Joshua Tree woman was arrested Wednesday after she fired a gun at a friend. According to a Sheriff’s report, the victim went to the home of Kathleen Drombrowski, 66, in the 62900 block of Turtle Road. He told deputies that when she started acting odd, he tried to leave about 2 p.m. and she became angry, and pointed a gun at him, and he was in fear for his life. Sometime during the confrontation, Drombrowski admitted to firing the gun. Drombrowski was not cooperative with deputies, but she was taken into custody and arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with her bail set at $50,000.
A Joshua Tree man was arrested Sunday after he threatened his neighbors with a BB gun. Deputies say that Jason Koster, 38, became angry when one of his neighbors parked in front of his mailbox about 9 p.m. in the 61900 block of Aster Place in Joshua Tree. Several neighbors said Koster got a handgun, which deputies later determined was a BB gun styled to look like a handgun, and pointed it at them. When deputies arrived, Koster ran inside his house, but they persuaded him to open the door and detained him. Jason Koster was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats and brandishing a weapon, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, and was released on a $50,000 bail bond.
We have limited information about a Twentynine Palms man who was arrested Tuesday, accused of spouse abuse and making criminal threats. Deputies were called to the 74700 block of Serrano Drive in Twentynine Palms about 10 p.m. Tuesday where they contacted Adam Link, 25, a sergeant with Marine Corps Communication Electronics School. After an investigation, Adam Link was arrested on suspicion of felony spouse abuse and making criminal threats, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, and released on $50,000 bail.
A Joshua Tree man was arrested Wednesday after he threatened customers and tellers inside a bank. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called to a bank in the 57400 block of 29 Palms Highway about 1:45 p.m. for a male customer, identified as Roy Johnson, 40, who was arguing with the teller, became belligerent, and refused to leave. The employees said that Johnson threatened to kill them and the customers inside, pointed at one of the customers and said he would kill her. Roy Johnson was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
