A Yucca Valley man was arrested Sunday night after a report of shots fired. Around 5 p.m. Sunday, January 17, sheriff deputies were called to the 5000 block of Elata Avenue in Yucca Valley after reports of residents hearing six to seven gunshots in the area. While on scene, deputies heard more shots and contacted Gary Clark, 65, of Yucca Valley nearby. During a safety sweep of the location, several firearms and ammunition were found and taken as evidence. Gary Clark was arrested for investigation of negligent discharge of a firearm, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000.
A Landers man was arrested Monday night for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after getting in a fight with his brother. Sheriff deputies responded to the 600 block of Tahoe Avenue around 6:30 p.m. after a report that Sean Driscoll, 42, had pointed a loaded handgun at his brother during a dispute, fired at least one round in the air and fled the scene. Driscoll was later apprehended by deputies on SR-247 near Pipes Canyon Road. Sean Driscoll was arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon, booked in to the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
A Twentynine Palms man was arrested, accused of harassing and assaulting a woman. Just before 8:30 a.m. Saturday, a woman was taking a walk near Bullion Avenue and Highway 62 in Twentynine Palms when she said a man, later identified as Jarred Earnest, 25, started following her. She said he started taking off his clothes, exposed himself to her, threw his phone at her, and chased her. When the woman’s husband arrived, she said Earnest ran to his home on Bullion Avenue and grabbed a stove grate and threw it her husband, who was recording the assault on his cell phone. The arriving deputy observed Earnest yelling at the woman; when Earnest was ordered to walk toward the deputy, he turned around and ran away. The deputy was able to detain Earnest without further incident. Jarred Earnest was arrested on suspicion of assault with a weapon, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
A Yucca Valley man was arrested for allegedly stalking his ex Sunday night. Sheriff deputies responded to the 6500 block of Indian Cove Road in Twentynine Palms around 1 a.m. after a report that a man, later identified as Mark Garcia, 28, was banging on apartment doors looking for the victim because he didn’t know where she was staying. The victim said Garcia called her 50 times between midnight and 1 a.m. Mark Garcia was arrested for investigation of stalking, booked at West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $150,000.

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Tuesday night, accused of leading deputies on a pursuit. About 8:30 p.m., deputies tried to stop a Dodge Ram pick-up truck near Onaga Trail and Victoria Avenue in Yucca Valley for vehicle violations. The driver, later identified as Mark Vogt, 51, drove off westbound on Onaga Trail, leading deputies on a pursuit. During the pursuit, Vogt crashed into a tree near the intersection with Joshua Lane and then fled on foot before he was captured by deputies. Deputies determined that Vogt had more than an ounce of methamphetamine, over an ounce of psilocybin mushrooms, and illicit narcotics proceeds. Mark Vogt was arrested on suspicion of felony failure to yield and transporting a controlled substance, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $100,000.
