SUPERVISORS MEET: LOCAL RECOGNITION, APPOINTMENT AND REVENUE AGREEMENT

A recognition, an appointment, and a revenue agreement all with ties to our Morongo Basin are on the agenda for tomorrow’s 10 a.m. meeting of the County Board of Supervisors in San Bernardino. Reporter Mike Lipsitz fills in the details…
In a largely ceremonial move, supervisors will recognize Joshua Tree National Park as a newly designated Dark Sky Park by the International Dark Sky Association. Next, the board is expected to approve the appointment of Ken Brock as the Flamingo Heights delegate to the Morongo Basin Municipal Advisory Council. Brock currently serves as a director for the Flamingo Heights Community Association, delegate to the Homestead Valley Community Council, and as a trails volunteer at Joshua Tree National Park. And finally, supervisors are expected to approve a five-year, $150,000 revenue agreement with the Town of Yucca Valley for collection, treatment and disposal or recycling of hazardous household waste. The program is designed to keep such waste out of the solid waste stream. Tomorrow’s meeting streams online and to the first-floor teleconferencing room in the County Government Center on White Feather Road in Joshua Tree. Public comment may be made via live video link from that location.
