STUDENT WORK GOES ON DISPLAY AT JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK’S JOSHUA TREE VISITORS CENTER

Students from Morongo Unified School District’s Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) Kaleidoscope program worked with Joshua Tree National Park rangers last summer to design a trail especially for kids. Next the students visited the park to hike the Skull Rock area on both the north and south sides of Park Boulevard. Dubbed the “Trailblazers,” they made notes of things they wanted to know more about and observations about their experiences. Then the students presented their ideas to park staff. Beginning tomorrow, their presentation boards will be part of a two-week exhibit at the Park’s Joshua Tree Visitor Center. Park Superintendent Mark Butler and Morongo Unified School District Superintendent Jim Majchrzak will open the exhibit at 10 a.m. Participating students and the public are encouraged to attend this special viewing of their work. Photos of the presentation boards can be seen at a link in this story at KCDZFM.com.
