STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED IN YUCCA VALLEY

A transient was arrested Tuesday, accused of being in possession of a stolen vehicle. According to a Sheriff’s report, Victorville deputies were called Sunday for a report of a stolen 2001 Chevy Cavalier. The owner suspected that a relative, Eric Hurtado, 25, a transient from Victorville had stolen the car and may have taken it to Yucca Valley. About 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Deputy Jimmy Delgado saw the stolen vehicle in an apartment parking lot in the to the 56100 block of Papago Trail in Yucca Valley. Delgado contacted the driver, Hurtado, who allegedly admitted to taking the vehicle without the owner’s consent. After an investigation, Eric Hurtado, 25, was arrested on suspicion of grand theft auto, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
