STOLEN DIRT BIKE LEADS TO DISCOVERY OF A DRUG LAB IN YUCCA VALLEY

The recovery of a stolen dirt bike led to the arrest of a Yucca Valley man for operating a drug lab Tuesday. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies on patrol contacted Lucas Clavet, 21, outside his apartment complex in the 7100 block of Sage Avenue about 1:10 p.m. Clavet had a 1997 Honda CR250 dirt bike; deputies determined the dirt bike had been reported stolen June 11 from a home in the 3800 block of Bonita Avenue. Deputies then obtained a search warrant for Clavet’s apartment. During the search, deputies located a butane honey oil lab; honey oil is obtained when someone uses butane to extract THC from marijuana. The process is extremely dangerous and can result in explosions. Narcotics officers took over the investigation. Lucas Clavet was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, and manufacturing drugs or narcotics. He was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $550,000.
