STANDOFF AND ARREST AFTER 29 PALMS MAN ALLEGEDLY STABS HIS MOTHER AND BROTHER

A man accused of stabbing his mother and brother held deputies at bay for about an hour before he surrendered Tuesday afternoon. According to the Sheriff’s Department, deputies were dispatched to the 5600 block of Daisy Avenue after receiving a report of a stabbing. It was reported that William Bassine, 30, of Twentynine Palms, stabbed his mother, Susan Turnbaugh, during an argument, then threw the knife at his brother Wayne Turnbaugh, causing a superficial wound to Wayne’s arm.
