ST. JOSEPH’S PLAYERS SET AUDITIONS FOR “BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS”

The St. Joseph’s players of Yucca Valley will be holding auditions for “Brighton Beach Memoirs.” Managing editor Tami Roleff has more on the tryouts….
Auditions have been set for “Brighton Beach Memoirs,” the next production of the St. Joseph’s Players. This coming-of-age story centers on a Polish-Jewish family in Brooklyn, New York, in 1937. Auditions will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 23, at the St. Joseph of Arimathea Church, 56312 Onaga Trail in Yucca Valley. Some parts have already been cast; open roles include Kate and Blanche, for women in their 40s, and Jack, 40s to 50s; along with Lori, age 12 to 14. Director Rebecca Haveley also needs volunteers for light, sound, props, costumes, and other backstage roles. Rehearsals will begin September 2 and the play will open October 10 and run through November 2. For more information, email [email protected].
