“Try One on Us” is a scholarship recently unveiled by the Copper Mountain College Foundation at the annual Greenleaf awards ceremony, when 16 local students learned their first year’s tuition, books and fees would be paid by the Foundation. Recipients of the pilot scholarship program are Christopher Bachman, Jacob Bell, Jubilee Bosch, Colby Compton, Kylie Howell, Nicholas Lee, Laura Marie Linton, Mason Marshall, Kathleen Moore, Nhu Huynh, Michael Quinlan, Celeste Reyes, Elizabeth Schmelling, Vanessa Valle, Sophie Wargo, and Derian Williams. The scholarship is part of a larger effort to increase student retention and success by helping to ease the burden of college expenses. Foundation Executive Director Sandy Smith says the endeavor will take a large but attainable endowment to fund. Learn more at: http://www.cmccd.edu/Foundation
