SIGN UP EARLY FOR BLACK ROCK LECTURE ABOUT DROUGHT

The Desert Institute at Joshua Tree National Park and Copper Mountain College are sponsoring the third event in their Black Rock lecture series, “Water in a Decade of Drought.” This free event requires pre-registration; here’s reporter Rebecca Havely to tell you how to register…
Everyone wants to know, will this drought finally end? Over nearly two decades California has built up a deficit that amounts to a loss of two years’ worth of normal precipitation. A sure bet for the year to come is more attention on conservation and more scrambling by water agencies to improve water systems and planning. This and much more will be discussed at the Black Rock Lecture series, “Water in a Decade of Drought”, Friday, January 16, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Copper Mountain College Bell Center. The symposium panel includes: Dr. William Patzert, California Institute of Technology; Marina West, Bighorn Desert-Water District; and Kirby Brill, Mojave Water District. Don’t miss out, preregister for this free event by calling 760-367-5535, emailing: [email protected], or visiting: joshuatree.org.
