SHOTS FIRED LEAD TO A TWENTYNINE PALMS CHOP SHOP, 3 ARRESTED

Three people were arrested in Twentynine Palms Sunday after they were found with stolen property and on other charges. Deputies were called to the 6200 block of Allen Avenue in Twentynine Palms at 1:38 p.m. Sunday because neighbors heard shots fired. When deputies arrived at the home, they discovered a stolen off-road vehicle. A search warrant was obtained for the home and deputies found three people hiding inside the house: Erik Edwards, 40, John Pratt, 39, and Kayla Shrewsbury, 31, all of Twentynine Palms. Edwards and Pratt both had active warrants for their arrest. During a search of the home, deputies recovered two stolen off-road motorcycles, multiple firearms, and ammunition. Erik Edwards was arrested for resisting arrest, and being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000. John Pratt was arrested for investigation of operating a chop shop, being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and receiving stolen property, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $75,000. Kayla Shrewsbury was arrested for investigation of resisting arrest, cited and released.
