SHOTS FIRED IN MORONGO VALLEY

Two people were arrested in Morongo Valley after neighbors reported hearing shots fired late Saturday night. Sheriff’s Sergeant Steve Wilson said the Sheriff’s department received multiple calls of shots fired about 11:30 p.m. in the 49700 block of Edison Lane. When deputies arrived, they saw Gary Ragle, 30, in the front yard with a handgun. Wilson said Ragle went into the house and turned off the lights, but deputies were able to convince him to come out. A search warrant was obtained for the home and deputies discovered loaded weapons, ammunition, drugs, and three small children. Wilson added that one of the firearms had been reported as stolen. During the search, the children’s mother, Michelle Wright, 32, returned home; she told deputies she had left her children in Ragle’s care while she was gone. Gary Ragle was arrested for investigation of being a felon in possession of a firearm and child endangerment; Michelle Wright was also arrested for child endangerment. They were both booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with their bail set at $100,000 each.
