Medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse. Rates of prescription drug abuse in the U.S. are alarmingly high, as are the number of accidental poisonings and overdoses due to these drugs. Help prevent drug abuse by disposing of your expired, unused, or unwanted prescription drugs, no questions asked, on Saturday, October 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Department in Joshua Tree. Last April, Americans turned in 371 tons of prescription drugs. For more information call 909-387-3700.
