SHERIFF’S HELICOPTER USED TO CATCH MAN EVADING ARREST FRIDAY

A Yucca Valley Man was arrested Friday afternoon after a Sheriff’s helicopter and deputies were called in to search for him. About 11:30, a Deputy on routine patrol in the Paradise Valley neighborhood of Yucca Valley when he spotted David Vasquez, 40. When Vasquez saw the deputy he took off running. Additional deputies and the helicopter were deployed and Vasquez was found in someone else’s garage in the 6300 block of Hermosa about 45 minutes later. David Vasquez was arrested for investigation of possession of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Morongo Basin jail with bail set at $225,000.
