SERIAL NATIONAL PARK VANDAL CONVICTED AND SENTENCED

A San Diego woman whose graffiti on rock formations in seven national parks went viral in 2014 pleaded guilty Monday to defacing government property. Casey Nocket, who went by the moniker Creepytings on Instagram, pleaded guilty in a federal court in Fresno to using acrylic paint to pain on rocks in September and October 2014 in Yosemite, Death Valley, Zion, Crater Lake, Rocky Mountain, and Canyonlands National Parks, and Colorado National Monument. At the time, it was believed she had also painted in Joshua Tree National Park. Casey Nocket was sentenced to two years’ probation and 200 hours of community service. She is also banned from all national parks during her two years of probation. A later hearing will determine how much restitution Nocket must pay to help with the cleanup.
