SCRAPPER REPORT LEADS TO DRUG ARRESTS

A neighbor’s call about scrappers in an empty apartment building in Yucca Valley resulted in the arrest of a man and woman wanted on warrants. According to a Sheriff’s report, a neighbor called Sheriff’s deputies about 2:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon to report that two trucks were parked in front of a vacant apartment building in the 50000 block of Sunland Drive. During a security check of the building, the deputy found David Coyer, 51, and Rachelle Franco, 52, inside the building. A records check that both were wanted on warrants for various drug charges. During a search, the deputy found drugs and drug paraphernalia in their possession. David Coyer and Rachelle Franco were arrested for investigation of being in possession of a controlled substance, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, and are being held on their warrants.
