SCHOOL BOARD TO REORGANIZE, DISCUSS HOW TO FILL OPEN SEAT TOMORROW

The Morongo Unified School District will swear in two board members and discuss how to replace a third at its regular meeting on Tuesday.
Incumbent Karalee Hargrove and newcomer Denise Cohen will be welcomed following last month’s school board elections. Notably absent will be Ronald Palmer, a veteran board member who died Nov. 18th just eight days after being re-elected.
In addition to considering the timeline and options for filling Palmer’s seat, the board will elect its new president, clerk and other officers.
Tuesday’s meeting gets underway 4 p.m. at Joshua Tree Elementary School on Sunburst Avenue.
