What will the teachers do next?
That’s the question likely to be on the minds of many attendees at tonight’s regular meeting of the Morongo Unified School District Board of Education.
There’s nothing about it on the agenda, which mostly has to do with such routine items as locker room improvements and modernization projects at various district schools. But members of the Morongo Teachers Association, entering their second year without a contract, have lately made it their habit to cram board meetings waving signs and making demands.
Whether and how the board responds is the elephant in the room.
Tonight’s meeting gets underway 7 p.m. at Twentynine Palms Elementary School on Playa Vista in Twentynine Palms.
