SCHOOL BOARD DISCUSSES TRUSTEE AREA MAPS

The Morongo Unified School District board of education met in open session last night. Here’s reporter Andrew Dieleman with the details…
The MUSD Board of Education began in open session with a final audit presentation on tax-payer bond measure O. The Citizens Oversight Committee stated that the board followed community priorities in using the bond for school improvements. The board then held a public meeting on the proposed boundaries for trustee areas. The National Demographics Corporation briefly re-addressed the original two proposed maps, which organize school zones based on either board member representation or the unity of desert communities. Area residents expressed continued concerns regarding the border lines for both maps. The board has until February 28 to address all concerns before adopting one of the two maps.
