The Rotary Club of Yucca Valley collected and distributed more than 5,000 books to area schools and libraries. Club President Jill Akalski chose literacy as this year’s President’s Project, and began holding book drives last fall. The club received books for all ages on every subject. The books were then donated to Valley Community Chapel preschool and kindergarten classes, Joshua Springs Christian School, and the Yucca Valley library.
