RELIGIOUS FREEDOM EXPLORED AT LIFETREE CAFÉ

Dilemmas surrounding the right to religious freedom will be explored at Lifetree Café. Managing editor Tami Roleff says participants will explore when religious freedom interferes with differing beliefs…

This week’s free Lifetree Café program, “Religious Freedom: Standing Up for What You Believe,” features a filmed interview with former White House attorney and Air Force officer Michael Weinstein, who believes the U.S. military is under attack by a group that threatens both morale and battle-readiness: Christian fundamentalists. Participants will have the opportunity to share their opinions on recent situations in which religious freedom was threatened and what happens when the exercise of religions interferes with someone else’s right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Lifetree Café starts at 4 p.m. and is located behind Little Church of the Desert at Veterans Way and Ocatillo Avenue in Twentynine Palms. For more information, call Brad White-Findeisen at 760-217-2597.

“All religions have some form of the Golden Rule in them. If we want to exercise our religion freely, others with different religions must be able to exercise their religion freely. When our exercise of religion begins to interfere with others’ right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, whose freedom should be curtailed? That’s something we’re going to explore in this episode of Lifetree Cafe,” says host, Brad White-Findeisen.

Admission to the 60-minute event is free. Lifetree Café is located in Twentynine Palms behind Little Church of the Desert at Veterans Way and Ocotillo Avenue.

Lifetree Café is a place where people gather for conversation about life and faith in a casual, comfortable setting. Questions about Lifetree may be directed to Brad White-Findeisen at 760-217-2597 or [email protected].
