The Youth Basketball League, a competitive recreational league for boys and girls in grades 3 through 8, focuses on fundamentals and skills development and features competitive league play. Boys and girls play separately. The boy’s divisions are third and fourth grade; fifth and sixth grade; and seventh and eighth grade. The girls’ divisions are third to fifth grades, and sixth to eighth grades. A mandatory skills clinic and player evaluation is set for November 19. Practices are held weeknights beginning December 7 at the Boys and Girls Club, La Contenta Middle School or Evangelical Free Church. Games are played Saturdays, beginning January 7. Registration is $60; the deadline to enter is November 17 or when divisions are filled. Register online at yucca-valley.org.
