Registration is underway for the Town of Yucca Valley Lifeguard Certification Course. This course will provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for health emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services personnel take over.
To enroll in this six-session lifeguarding course, you must be at least 15 years old before the last scheduled class session and be able to pass a skills evaluation test. The course fee of $220 includes American Red Cross registration fee, lifeguarding manual, adult/child CPR mask, whistle, pack, and instruction. Classes will be held May 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, and 15. All sessions will take place at the Yucca Valley High School pool located at 7600 Sage Avenue, Yucca Valley. Students who successfully complete the course may interview for the town’s summer aquatic positions, and may be eligible for a 50 percent fee reimbursement. Register online at yucca-valley.org.
