This summer has been challenging in the seasonal battle between ant and man. Here are some ideas that may tip the scales in your favor. First identify the type of ant you are dealing with. That’s what the internet for. Some ants may be new to you and need special treatment. The area you thought was clean might need another once over. Small crumbs still look like a buffet to an ant. Ants leave a scent trail getting to that food; wipe down the area with a vinegar and water solution or a vinegar-based cleaner to remove the trail. When using bait, make it easy for the ant to get to and avoid using repellant type sprays near it. And if you have small children and or the elderly or someone who is allergic in your household, consider hiring a professional who can act promptly and can give you a game plan to avoid the next infestation.
