As it enters its third year, the Pasadena Garden Club’s Minerva Hamilton Hoyt internship is awarded to an Environmental Studies or General Sciences student with a 3.0 GPA or better. Meghan Udell will work under the supervision of Joshua Tree National Park employees in the Science and Resource Stewardship division and will perform a mix of fieldwork, data entry, information compilation, and scientific research. The internship’s namesake, Minerva Hamilton Hoyt, was an esteemed member of the Pasadena Garden Club and is largely credited with the establishment of the Joshua Tree National Park.

“I am passionate about natural conservation and understand the value of protecting unique and vulnerable areas, much like Minerva Hoyt did,” Udell said.
