PEDESTRIAN KILLED IN TWENTYNINE PALMS SUNDAY

A pedestrian was killed Sunday evening after he was hit by a car in Twentynine Palms. According to a Sheriff’s report, the man, who has not yet been identified by the coroner’s office, was walking westbound on Baseline Road, west of Utah Trail, about 7:50 p.m. Astrid Johnson, 69, of Twentynine Palms, was driving westbound on Baseline Road when she hit the pedestrian. Paramedics responded and attempted life-saving measures, but the man died from his injuries. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
