PEDESTRIAN INJURED IN HIT-AND-RUN IN YUCCA VALLEY

A pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday afternoon in Yucca Valley. According to County Fire Battalion Chief Scott Tuttle, the man was hit by an unknown vehicle on Pioneertown Road just south of Sunnyslope Drive shortly before 3:30 p.m. A Sheriff’s Department report says the victim was taking photos of the desert just off the road. He was crouched down, looking at his camera when he thinks he was hit by the unknown vehicle, as he blacked out. The report states his friends, riding motorcycles, found him about 10 minutes later. The vehicle that hit him had left the scene.Tuttle said the unidentified victim suffered injuries to his right side, consistent with blunt force trauma. The victim was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs with minor injuries. The Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
