PARK PERFORMING MAINTENANCE ON HIDDEN VALLEY HIKING TRAIL

The Hidden Valley Loop Trail in Joshua Tree National Park will be closed to hikers intermittently for the next several weeks. Starting Tuesday, October 13, park staff will be performing maintenance on the trail for up to 30 minutes at a time. Work on the trail is scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Hidden Valley Loop Trail is one of the more popular and heavily visited sites in Joshua Tree National Park. As a result, the route requires periodic maintenance to protect park resources and provide for visitor safety. Park maintenance staff will be on site to provide directions regarding the closure and when it will be safe for travel. If a total of 40 or more park visitors are affected by the closure, efforts will be made to expedite re-opening to allow safe passage while staff mitigates any immediate hazards along the trail corridor. For more information on the project, call James at 760-367-5685 or email: [email protected].
