PARADE OF HOME ORGANIZERS DOING “THE HAPPY DANCE”

Organizers of the 12th Annual Parade of Homes are doing the “happy dance” due to great attendance and beautiful weather for Reach Out Morongo Basin’s longest-running fundraiser. Reach Out raised over $8,000 with more than 250 parade-goers from all over—the Morongo Basin, Coachella Valley, Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego counties, as well as out-of-state visitors. This year’s tour featured six homes, including its first home ever in Morongo Valley. Also new this year were drawings for stays at homes on the tour. Winners included Daniel Bosch and Barbara Morrow, both of Twentynine Palms, and L and J Avalos of Pala, and Susan McClure of Monrovia. Reach Out Executive Director Robin Schlosser said next year’s tour will have expanded hours to allow everyone more time to explore the homes on the tour. Proceeds from the Parade of Homes tour brings in about 5 percent of Reach Out Morongo Basin’s budget for the year.
