An overwhelming amount of orchid blooms and wonderful entertainment provided the perfect venue for the 20th Annual Morongo Basin Orchid Festival. One of the Morongo Basin’s marquee events drew record crowds again this year, netting over $20,168 for the two-day event. Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary Club President Tom Dailey said, âThe Boys and Girls Club, and the Armed Services YMCA Club did a fabulous job serving pulled pork and hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos. The Joshua Tree Sportettes helped with the vending of soft drinks, water, and childrenâs games. The Joshua Tree Rotary Club helped the Yucca Valley Sunset Club with the tasty wine and cheese concession. âThe basin-wide effort to participate in the festival increases the size of the festival each yearâ Founder Chris Gubler Said. âSunset Rotary does a fantastic job with the outside activities and the Gubler Orchids team makes for an incredible display of blooms. It means a lot to me personally to see everyone working together to improve the quality of life in our Morongo Basin.â The 21st Annual Morongo Basin Orchid Festival will be held on October 1 and 2, 2016.
