“OPERATION GOBBLE” TO GIVE TURKEYS TO NEEDY MORONGO VALLEY RESIDENTS

The community of Morongo Valley is looking for needy families who need a Thanksgiving Turkey this year. Reporter Mike Lipsitz has more on “Operation Gobble”…
Some 65 Thanksgiving turkeys will land on the tables of as many needy families in Morongo Valley this Thanksgiving. The Morongo Valley Community Services District and Fire Department will distribute the birds on Friday, November 18 as part of Golden State Water Company’s “Operation Gobble.” The aim is to get the turkeys to those with limited resources who may otherwise go without a meal on the Thanksgiving holiday. Golden State Water will distribute more than 8,400 turkeys throughout the state. To apply for one of the turkeys, Morongo Valley residents may call Roxanne at 760-363-6454 and add their name to the list; one turkey per call. Residents will be given a number and must bring their number and ID showing proof of residence at 10:30 a.m. on November 18 to the CSD office next to the fire station in Morongo Valley where they can pick up a turkey ready to roast.
