ONE ARRESTED FOLLOWING STABBING IN TWENTYNINE PALMS THURSDAY

A Moreno Valley man was arrested Thursday, following a stabbing in Twentynine Palms. Deputies say Gregory Pelle, 36, had gone to the 6000 block of Ocotillo Avenue where a domestic violence-related incident occurred. Pelle and the victim are separated and do not live together. Pelle started damaging property outside the house, and when the victim opened the front door, Pelle, armed with a knife, barged in. A second victim, who was trying to defend the first victim from Pelle, was stabbed by Pelle. Pelle then fled the scene, believed to be heading back to his home in Moreno Valley. Deputies located Pelle while he was driving westbound on Highway 62 near Lear Avenue and conducted a traffic stop. Gregory Pelle was arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon and burglary, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $125,000. The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Hi-Desert Medical Center.
