NEWSPAPER DELIVERER ARRESTED FOR DUI

A Yucca Valley man was arrested early Wednesday morning, accused of a hit-and-run accident while driving under the influence. According to a Sheriff’s report, Dennis Duke, whose booking record lists his occupation as a newspaper deliverer, was driving in the 58400 block of Desert Gold Drive in Yucca Valley at 2 a.m. when he is said to have side-swiped a block wall and also hit a mailbox farther down the road, finally coming to a stop on the side of the road. Dennis Duke was arrested for hit-and-run, and on two counts of driving under the influence. He was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail and released about 2 p.m.
