MUSD, SCHOOL EMPLOYEES STUCK ON “ME TOO” CONTRACT CLAUSE

The Morongo Unified School District and the California School Employees Association had a bargaining session Wednesday, and have tentatively agreed on three more items, but continue to disagree on the “me too” clause of salary negotiations. The CSEA is a union that represents classified employees such as security, food service, office and clerical workers, maintenance and operations, and instructional assistants. The union and the district agreed on using district emails for sending messages to members; union members can donate sick leave to other union members; and created a new reclassification system. However, the union and the district can’t agree on giving CSEA employees an increase in salary equivalent to the percentage that management receives. At this time, no more dates for further negotiation have been set, and the union states the school district is willing to let the CSEA workers go to an impasse rather negotiate further.
