A mountain lion was spotted in Yucca Valley Monday evening, and Sheriff’s deputies are urging residents to be alert. About 10:16 p.m. Monday, deputies were called to the 5900 block of Avalon Avenue about a mountain lion that was trapped inside a chicken coop. The lion had killed one of the chickens inside. The mountain lion escaped before representatives from the Department of Fish and Game could arrive. Residents are urged to contact law enforcement in the event of any future sightings of mountain lions.
