MOTORCYCLE RIDER KILLED IN CRASH IN YUCCA VALLEY SUNDAY

A motorcycle rider was killed Sunday when a vehicle pulled out in front of him on the highway in Yucca Valley. Sheriff’s Deputy Ryan Arthurton said the female driver of the H3 Hummer was at Katje Way and Highway 62 at 4 p.m. when she pulled out to make a left hand turn to go eastbound on the highway. Arthurton said she did not see the Harley Davidson rider in the westbound number one lane of the highway, and he broadsided her Hummer. The man, who has not been identified yet, was killed instantly. Paramedics used the Jaws of Life to extricate the woman from the Hummer, and she was flown to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs.

The front tire of the Harley Davidson lies in the street behind the motorcycle.
