The Morongo Basin Transit Authority Board of Directors will meet at 5 p.m. Thursday, July 9, at the MBTA Operations Center on Verbena Road in Joshua Tree. After a closed session in which directors will appoint a new general manager and discuss anticipated litigation, the directors will recognize the outgoing general manager. Next will be administrative and operations reports, followed by approval of a contract for a short-range transit plan for Mobility Planners, and approval of the 2015-16 budget. The board will be asked to approve the purchase of shelters and bus stop lighting for $28,000.
