Southern California Edison is exploring ways to help its customers keep energy costs down. Tonight, the Morongo Basin Municipal Advisory Council gets a whiff of whatâs in store. Reporter David Haldane explainsâŚ
In the mood to watch TV? If youâre disciplined enough to put it off until the weekend, it could cost you less money.
Thatâs the basic idea behind Southern California Edisonâs new Time-of-Use rate plans, under which you can manage your energy costs by planning when you use electricity. Off-peak periods, like mornings and weekends, cost less than peak times like weekday afternoons and evenings.
Thatâs the subject of a presentation at tonightâs meeting of the Morongo Basin Municipal Advisory Council, at which an SCE representative will be present to explain the program and answer questions. The meeting gets underway 6:30 p.m. at the Joshua Tree Community Center on Sunburst Ave.
