MOBILE HOME, VACANT CABIN DESTROYED IN TWO SEPARATE FIRES SUNDAY

A mobile home in Joshua Tree is a total loss after a fire Sunday. County Fire Battalion Chief Scott Tuttle said firefighters from Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley, and Twentynine Palms were called to the Lazy H Mobile Home Park in the 6400 block of Valley View Street in Joshua Tree about 8:45 p.m. Residents nearby reported hearing at least two explosions coming from the fire. The fire was knocked down in about 25 minutes, but the mobile home was a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A vacant cabin was completely destroyed by fire Sunday. According to County Fire Battalion Chief Scott Tuttle, Twentynine Palms and Combat Center firefighters were called to the 1400 block of Longview Road, in Desert Heights, west of Twentynine Palms, just after 4 p.m. Residents also reported hearing an explosion at the time of the fire. Smoke from the fire was visible for miles. Firefighters had the fire knocked down six minutes after arrival, but the cabin is a total loss. The cause is under investigation.
