MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES

There are many resources in the Morongo Basin for individuals and families struggling with mental health problems.  Mike Lipsitz points out some of them…

May is mental health month and no better time to make a mental note of some of the services available in Morongo Basin.  County Supervisor James Ramos reminds us that the County “(doesn’t} want anyone to go without help because they don’t know where to seek assistance.” Through community partners, the County provides a variety of quality behavioral health services including the Crisis Walk-In Clinic, or CWIC, open 24/7 on Santa Fe Trail in Yucca Valley.  Drug and alcohol related services are available through Mental Health Systems on Business Center Drive in Yucca Valley.  At nearby Desert Mountain Children’s Center is help for those under 6 and Hi-Desert Behavioral Health is a full service facility open 24/7.   For Z107.7 News, this is assignment reporter Mike Lipsitz.
