LANDERS MAN ACCUSED OF STEALING GIRLFRIEND’S CAR

A Landers man was arrested early Sunday morning after his girlfriend said he stole her car. According to Sheriff’s Sergeant Matt Yost, Bobby Bice, 21, was arguing with his girlfriend at her home in Johnson Valley, near Valley Vista and Old Woman Springs Road, about 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Yost said Bice had driven off in her car, and then returned on foot to return her keys, but refused to tell her where her car was. Bice then fled before deputies arrived. Deputies searched for him for about 1 ½ hours before locating him. Yost said deputies also found the woman’s car in the area near her home. Bobby Bice was arrested for investigation of grand theft auto, felony reckless evading, driving under the influence, resisting arrest, and for violating his probation. He was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $50,000.
