LANDERS MAN ACCUSED OF SEXUAL BATTERY AFTER ATTEMPTED KISSING

A Landers man was arrested Monday afternoon after a woman said he tried to kiss her. According to a Sheriff’s report, a woman was at a grocery store in Yucca Valley about 3:30 p.m. when a man, later identified as Arnulfo Fuentes, 38, asked her daughter for change, and then followed the woman to her car. The woman told deputies that Fuentes opened her car door, and demanded her phone number. Fearing for her safety, she gave it to him, at which time he tried to kiss her. The woman screamed, then drove away in her car and called the Sheriff’s Department. Deputies searched the area and found Fuentes, who said he tried to kiss the woman after she had kissed him. Arnulfo Fuentes was arrested for investigation of sexual battery, and on a traffic warrant, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his total bail set at $50,000.
