LAFCO NAMES NEW CHAIR

The Local Agency Formation Commission for San Bernardino County has appointed a new chair. Kimberly Cox, who has served on the commission for 12 years and as vice-chair for three years, was selected during the commission’s meeting May 18. Cox is the vice-president of the Mojave Water Agency. In addition, Thurston “Smitty” Smith of Apple Valley was named as the alternate public member. The commission is composed of seven voting members, with four alternate members who vote only in the absence or abstention of a voting member. The seven members and their alternates represent all levels of local government.
