KIWANIS CLUB TO HOST OPENING NIGHT AT THEATRE 29

A gala opening for “Don’t Hug Me, I’m Pregnant” has been planned by the Kiwanis Club on Friday, May 6 at Theatre 29. The doors will open at 6 p.m. for hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction. The curtain will rise at 7 p.m. with dessert served at intermission. “Don’t Hug Me, I’m Pregnant” is directed by Marty Neider and musical direction is by Kathryn Ferguson, the same production team that brought you “A Don’t Hug Me Christmas Carol.” In a little bar called “The Bunyan,” in Bunyan Bay, Minnesota, Clara is 8 1/2 months pregnant and looking forward to her baby shower. A freak snow storm hits and snows them in. Her husband Gunner’s worst nightmare comes true when Clara goes into labor. Tickets for opening night only are $25 each and can be purchased at the Z107.7 studios in Joshua Tree, 6448 Hallee Road, at the Twentynine Palms Chamber and Visitor Center, 73484 29 Palms Hwy, and at the Desert Trail Office in Twentynine Palms, 6396 Adobe Rd.
“Don’t Hug Me, I’m Pregnant” will continue its run Friday and Saturday nights through June 4 at 7 p.m. with 2:30 matinees on Sunday, May 15 and 29. Regular priced tickets are from $8 to $15 dollars and can be reserved on line at Theatre29.org or by calling the theater box office at 760-361-4151.
